What is Methotrexate?
Methotrexate is a very strong antimetabolite drug. It is used for the treatment of a variety of serious conditions:

severe forms of psoriasis;
psoriatic and rheumatoid arthritis;
ankylosing spondylitis, etc.
How does it work?
Methotrexate has an immunosuppressive effect. It also works by suppressing DNA synthesis and repair and slowing down the division of cells. Fast-growing tissues like cells of the embryo, malignant tumors, bone marrow, epithelium of the intestine, bladder and mouth are particularly sensitive to Methotrexate.
